CDG Parliamentary Champion in the House of Commons - Paul Bristow MP - will join CDG members for a Q&A session to celebrate International Day of Disabled Persons. The event will be Chaired by the CDG's Policy Lead - Michelle Lowe.

About Michelle Lowe (Chair of the event) - Michelle joined the CDG's Executive in March 2020 and is the lead for Policy issues and development. She is particularly interested in widening opportunities in society for disabled people. Michelle first became aware of the challenges disabled people face from the experiences of her mum who has an invisible disability. Michelle is also the former Cabinet Member for Housing and Health at Sevenoaks District Council and served on the Council for many years, including as the Deputy Leader. During her time as a District Councillor she worked to make the area more accessible for disabled people and their families and carers. In the 2017 General Election she stood as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for the Coventry South constituency, and in 2015 in the Coventry North East constituency. Follow Michelle on on Twitter: @MichelleLowe14

Paul Bristow MP is the CDG's Parliamentary Champion in the House of Commons. Paul was elected as the Conservative MP for Peterborough at the 2019 General Election gaining the seat off the Labour incumbent with a swing of 3.3%. Paul is a member of the Commons Health & Social Care Select Committee and is passionate about improving the life chances and opportunities for disabled people. He is a member of a number of All Party Parliamentary Groups, including the one on Autism. Both of Paul's parents worked in the NHS and prior to his election to Parliament he was a successful businessman, and established his own Public Affairs and Communications Consultancy.
