Jonathan Smith lives with his parents in a Cambridgeshire village. He has mild cerebral palsy and a moderate learning disability. 

For over 10 years he has enjoyed acting as an advocate: as course rep, Student Union Equality and Diversity Officer and Student Governor at FE college and, more recently, as a member of the Regional Stakeholder Network (Eastern Region) representing a local Social Enterprise for adults with disabilities.
